Rope for Non-Sexual Play

ROPE AS A NON SHIBARI TOOL-

Many general kinksters admire shibari bondage for its aesthetics, impressiveness, and skill.

However that same skill threshold keeps many away from pursing this kink. While it can

definitely be a study intensive craft, there is so much more to rope. This class will take some of

the other valuable elements of this tool and separate them from the highly technical knot tying

components so more people can enjoy them. Students will learn how to incorporate rope into

their kink bag in meaningful and exciting ways WITHOUT ever having to learn a pattern or even

a single knot or friction. This is not a rope 101 class or even a bedroom bondage class. You will

NOT learn how to tie anything together. Instead this class will consider the versatility of this

material as a tool of communication, connection, and mood setting. We will discuss how to use

these concepts to design a scene enhanced by this simple addition to your toy bag. Students

will also learn general safety/risk and consent information especially pertinent to the tool of rope.

Rope will be provided for those who do not have any so that the class can practice hands-on.

BIO-

Tensegrity (they/he) is an international genderqueer and

neurodivergent educator and performer. They have been

obsessing over rope since 2018 and started teaching in

2020. He puts on very dense classes packed to the brim

with information and prides himself on making each class

valuable to every skill level in the room. They are

passionate about how the rope community can expand

by both considering parallel outside knowledge bases

and by challenging the status quo especially in the ways

that are most uncomfortable. His super power in teaching

is leveraging an advanced attention to detail to break

down even complex topics into manageable bites. Oh,

and he'll do it loudly.
