About the event
Ebb and Flow - Connective Rope for All Levels
Description: This 3-hour, hands-on workshop is focused around how people at any level of their exploration with rope can integrate a connective approach and achieve a 'flow state' that significantly enhances their experience tying and/or being tied. While there will be an overview of technical skills (knots, frictions, etc.), this workshop emphasizes an applied approach that will enable participants to create dynamic, connective scenes no matter what their level of prior experience with rope is. Often called 'soft skills', the techniques taught are foundational and will include considerations around rope and body handling, nonverbal communication, sensory deprivation, and other elements that center the experience of why we endeavour to tie and be tied.
Although some of the techniques in this workshop can be practiced by self-tying, the primary focus is on creating dynamic partnered or group rope scenes and it is therefore recommended that you attend with someone you feel comfortable engaging in rope play with. If you are curious about this topic but will be attending solo, please reach out to earthly.entanglement@gmail.com to discuss - we may be able to facilitate demo tops and/or bottoms if there is a need for it!

Denver Rope Salon is a values-centered rope community with a focus on exploring the multitude of ways to engage with rope at any level of experience. We are proud to welcome Blue all the way from Los Angeles as a guest instructor for this workshop, alongside co-founder Leila Rose (she/her)!
Blue's rope journey began in 2018 with a partner's desire to explore rope. His exploration quickly became obsession - within a year, under tutelage he began focusing on suspension. During the 6 years of his tying, he has delved into all aspects of tying and rigging. Although probably best known for outdoor suspension photos, he has strived to become a well-rounded rigger spending equal time with floor ties, partials, predicaments, suspensions, and connective rope.
