About the event
Join us at the Sexploratorium for Your Fat Friend, an intimate documentary about writer and activist Aubrey Gordon. Directed by Jeanie Finlay and filmed over six years, the film follows Gordon’s rise from anonymous blogger to bestselling author and beloved podcaster, exploring her work to change how we see fat people—and our own bodies.
Alongside her public life, the film enters the complicated territory of family, love, and being understood by the people closest to us. It invites us to examine the beliefs we inherit about body size, the everyday impact of anti-fat bias, and what it takes to change minds—even when those minds belong to people we love.
Come with curiosity and stay for a discussion after the screening as we explore body politics, belonging, dignity, and connection. Tickets are donation-based; contribute what you can. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase.
